Found an old web comic site from 2001 still running on a dusty server

I was searching for something else and stumbled on a web comic that hasn't been updated since 2004. The domain was still active and the pages loaded fine, just frozen in time with that classic pixel art style and early 2000s humor. I spent like 2 hours reading through the archives and it honestly took me back to college. A lot of the links are broken now and the author's email bounced back when I tried to reach out. I wonder how many other sites like this are still out there, just sitting on some server nobody pays for anymore. Has anyone else found a relic like this that still works but the creator vanished?

Buddy of mine found a fan site for a band that broke up in 2002, still had a working guestbook where people were posting in 2023. He left a message and got an email back from the original webmaster's mom saying he passed away years ago.
