Can we talk about hitting 500 visitors on a dead forum from 2002?
I was poking around some old web directories last week and found a forum about marine aquariums that hasn't had a new post since 2009. But here's the thing, it still gets around 500 unique visitors a month according to some counter on the homepage. That surprised me because the layout is a mess, all broken tables and neon green text on black backgrounds. It makes me wonder how many people are still lurking on these abandoned sites, maybe looking for specific info that doesn't exist anywhere else. Has anyone else checked the stats on an old forum they stumbled into?

Man, that's wild. I bet those 500 visitors are people stuck on really old hardware or slow connections. Remember when forums were built in raw HTML and took forever to load? Some of those old threads have step-by-step guides with pictures that just work on old dial-up setups. They're like preserved time capsules for a specific kind of internet experience nobody bothers to archive.

Those old dial-up era guides are pure gold for anyone fixing up vintage computers. The pictures are often hosted on some ancient server that still hums along because nobody remembered to turn it off.
