Spent 4 hours rebuilding a Geocities shrine page because I forgot to save the HTML backup

I had this awesome Sailor Moon fan page on Geocities back in '98, lost it all when I accidentally overwrote the file with a blank template. Has anyone else lost hours recreating old code or content from memory?

Blank template? You overwrote four hours of work with a blank file? Man that is brutal, I would have been sick to my stomach. I remember spending entire weekends on my Geocities page trying to get the animated GIFs and visitor counters just right. Lost mine too when they shut down the whole service, but at least that was out of my control. Doing it to yourself by accident has to sting way worse though. Hope the second version came out even better.
