PSA: I cracked how to view old sites with broken Java applets...

Tried to load a music forum from 1998 and the applets kept failing. Found a guide on using an older browser version to get them working... it was a game changer.

Seriously, that whole struggle takes me back. Elliotbell, your dancing hamster thing made me remember trying to get old Shockwave game demos to run on a modern laptop. I had installer files from like 2003 that just would not talk to Windows 10, it was a whole silly project. Ended up with a virtual machine running XP and a bunch of shady driver downloads, just for 10 minutes of some janky snowboarding game. What's the weirdest old thing you've gone through that much trouble for?

Oh man, that's the best feeling... I was browsing some old band sites on the Wayback Machine and hit the same wall. Getting an archive of Flash games to run last year felt like a total victory, totally worth the hassle.
