I used to mock Geocities guestbooks, then I found one with messages from 1998

Back in the day I thought those auto-play MIDI guestbooks were the lamest thing on the web. Last month I stumbled on an old Angelfire site about a local band called The Rusty Nails from Portland. The guestbook had 47 entries from actual fans at their 1998 shows, and I spent an hour reading old inside jokes and show stories. Anyone else ever find a preserved guestbook that actually felt like a time capsule?

Glad @olivias88 felt that too. Found stuff in real life at estate sales like that sometimes.

God I feel this. Found my old Neopets guild guestbook once and cringed so hard at my own posts I almost closed the browser.
