Hot take: those old-school guestbook scripts were a pain to install

I tried adding one to my Angelfire fan site in '98 and it took me a full weekend to get the Perl script working. Anyone else remember wrestling with server permissions for days?

Actually, I had the opposite experience with my Geocities page. The guestbook script from Matt's Script Archive installed in about an hour. The hardest part was just reading the instructions carefully.

Lol @sean_ramirez you got lucky then, that script was a nightmare for most of us. Took me a whole weekend to get it working right.
