Found a 1997 Geocities site that still has working guestbook

I was digging through the Wayback Machine and stumbled on this Geocities page dedicated to someone's pet iguana. The thing had a midi player, blinking text, and somehow the guestbook still let me sign it back in 2023. Has anyone else found a dead site that still had some feature running?

Oh man Ive had this happen a few times. The trick is sometimes those old guestbooks are just basic CGI scripts that have been running untouched for decades on some dusty server. If you can find the sites email in the page source you might even get a bounce back from an old AOL address lol. One time I found a Star Wars fan site from 1999 and the guestbook still worked too. I signed it with "hello from 2022" just to mess with whoever might check it in the future. The best ones are the sites where the guestbook shows all the old entries from back then. You get this weird time capsule of people saying stuff like "cool page" and "nice midi" from 1997. Its actually kind of creepy how these things just keep running with nobody maintaining them.
