Discovered my old GeoCities site still works if you add a tilde

I was messing around with orphaned files on my hard drive last night and found a backup of my 1998 fan page for a forgotten cartoon. Out of curiosity I slapped a tilde in the URL on Neocities and it actually loaded the animated fire gifs and all. Has anyone else had luck reviving old personal pages with weird URL tricks?

Did you check if the guestbook still had your old replies in it?

Wait, you mean people actually went back and looked at their own old guestbook replies? I used to think guestbooks were just a one-way thing where you leave a note and never look back at it. But then I stumbled on my old guestbook from like 2004 and found some replies I'd completely forgotten about. It totally shifted how I see them now, like they're actually a living record of conversations not just a dead digital wall. Now I kinda wish I'd saved more of those back-and-forth exchanges instead of just writing one and forgetting.
