inProperty manager pushed me to reuse bad coax to cut costs
You mentioned scratches not ruining the signal, but my old cable had a cut that let in static. I had constant dropouts and fuzzy channels until I changed it out. The property manager argued it was fine, but a cable guy found corrosion inside the damaged section. Once I put in a new line, my tv and internet worked perfectly. It taught me that unseen damage can cause big problems.

inPro tip: We're cooling welds way longer than needed on most jobs
@caleb_kelly's recipe example reminds me of how folks cling to outdated car maintenance schedules. Modern engines and oils work differently, but some still change oil every 3,000 miles wasting money. They miss that manufacturers now recommend longer intervals based on better tech. What outdated rule have you seen people stick to?

inDrove all the way to Austin for a famous pitmaster's joint and their brisket was dry as cardboard, fight me
You think THAT'S bad? I once tried to smoke a brisket at home that came out so dry my dog gave me a look of pure pity. We're talking jerky that lost a fight with a salt mine. At least you paid for disappointment, I invested 16 hours and my own pride into creating a leather boot. Maybe we should start a support group.

inMy pup dragged home a chipped garden gnome from the curb
Actually... what if it's a family heirloom they just forgot outside? victor_hill70 has a point that tossing it for a chip is harsh, so maybe it has real meaning. The chip could be from some old story, like a kid hitting a baseball into it... that kind of damage gives a gnome character. Feels like you should at least ask, just in case it's got a history you'd hate to swipe.
