I see it different, they usually calm down quick without anyone saying anything.

Take a typical scene at a cafe. Someone drops a tray, everyone jumps, but it's quiet again in seconds. @the_eric has a point about things calming down without a word. Most times, making a big deal out of it just draws more attention. Why act like it's a crisis when it blows over so fast? Does it ever really turn bad when nobody says anything?
