Why does nobody talk about the dangers of chemical strippers in small spaces?
I tried using a strong stripper in my garage to remove old varnish, and the fumes were awful (headache for days). Even with a mask, it seeped into the house and made everything smell. Now I stick to sanding and scraping, which takes longer but is way safer. Seriously, folks, think twice before going the chemical route.

Did the label mention needing proper ventilation?

See if the air flow note is in the same small print as the 'do not eat' warning.

Had a similar scare with paint stripper in my basement... fumes clung to everything. Ended up renting an industrial fan to push air out the window, which sort of worked. Still got a headache though, so I get why you switched to sanding. Sometimes the slow way is just safer, you know?
