Picked up a rusted metal box at a yard sale in Albuquerque. Opened it to find a 1943 steel penny taped to a note that said 'For luck in the Pacific'.

My buddy found something like that in his grandpa's attic, a tobacco tin with a map drawn on the inside of the lid. It was just a bunch of squiggles and an X, but the old man swore it was from his time in the merchant marine, marking a bar in Singapore he'd never forget. Never did figure out if the place was real, but he kept that tin on his dresser until the day he died. Funny what people decide to save, you know?

Man, that's such a cool story, @riley956! My aunt had a little wooden box full of weird keys, each one tagged with a tiny piece of tape. She said they were from all the apartments she lived in during the 70s, and each key was a memory of a different city. We found it after she passed and just sat there trying to guess which key went with her stories about Chicago or New Orleans. It's wild what becomes a treasure, right?
