Overheard a homeowner tell their kid 'the floor guy is just here to make noise'

The whole "just here to make noise" thing is a little harsh but I wouldn't take it too personally. Kids say weird stuff and parents say dumb stuff when they're tired. The floor guy probably wasn't even bothered by it, he's just there to get paid and leave. If anything it's a funny story to tell later.

Totally agree with you @thompson.christopher. My own kid once told a pizza delivery guy he was "just here to take our money." I wanted to sink through the floor. But the guy just laughed, said "yep, that's the job," and handed over the pizza. Kids don't have a filter. Parents just stand there like idiots hoping the ground opens up. The flooring guy probably tells that story at dinner now. It's not that deep.
