Finally gave in on enzyme peels after years of fighting them
I used to swear enzyme peels were a waste of time compared to chemical ones for 6 years. Then I had a client last month with super reactive skin who couldn't handle even gentle acids, and the glow after three enzyme treatments made me completely change my mind. Has anyone else had a situation that made you ditch your old favorites for something you used to hate?

Had a client with rosacea who couldn't tolerate my usual lactic acid peels. Tried enzyme peels as a last resort and her skin calmed down way faster than I expected. Now I keep a couple different enzymes in my kit for those sensitive days. Sometimes the stuff you swore off ends up being the better option for certain skin types.

My go-to for sensitive rosacea clients is pumpkin enzyme peels, they're gentle but still get the job done without that stinging sensation you get with acids. I keep a 5% pumpkin and a 10% papaya enzyme in my fridge actually, and I find the papaya works better on oily-prone sensitive skin while pumpkin is better for drier types. The trick I've found is to leave them on for just 8-10 minutes max, then mist with cool water instead of rubbing them off, it cuts way down on redness later.
