One Sunday morning down at the New Orleans harbor taught me patience pays off
We were dredging a tight channel near the Industrial Canal and the cutterhead snagged something solid around 6 AM. Took me and my buddy Ray almost 4 hours to clear a buried cable that wrapped around the rotor. Whole crew was cursing but we got through without tearing up the gear. Anyone else had a morning like that where a slow start saved you a bigger headache later?

Oh MAN, you gotta love those mornings where the river decides to test your patience. I've had a cutterhead wrap up with an old anchor chain once, and we spent half the day cutting it loose. But you're right, taking that time saved us from tearing up the pump and having a MUCH bigger mess to deal with later. Slow and steady wins the race on the water, man.

Slow and steady wins the race" sounds nice until your shift runs 4 hours late.
