Had a nightmare day with my WiFi in a cafe in Lisbon

I thought working from a cafe would be fine but the connection kept dropping every 10 minutes. Ended up losing a client call because the zoom froze right when I was about to give my proposal. Has anyone else had a public wifi disaster mess up a big work moment?

Three times last year alone I tried the whole "cool remote worker" thing and three times I ended up holding my laptop over my head like a broken antenna near the bathroom. The worst was in a place called The Coffee Lab in Portland where the wifi basically screamed "good luck, loser" every time I connected. I literally had to do a client pitch through my phone hotspot with my face glowing like a ghost from the screen brightness. At this point I just assume public wifi will betray me and plan a backup like an amateur spy.
