Actually, putting in that extra time usually shows in the final piece for me. A quick sketch has energy, but a finished render has a whole different level of polish. Both have their place though.

Yeah the "different level of polish" thing is real. But I heard an artist say sometimes you lose the initial spark if you overwork it. My quick stuff often feels more alive.
