Bumped into an old photography teacher at the grocery store

He saw my tablet screen and asked what I was working on. I showed him my digital landscape piece. He said the lighting looked "too perfect" and that real photos have flaws. That hit different because I've been obsessing over making everything flawless in Procreate. Now I'm trying to leave in some messy brush strokes on purpose. Anybody else struggle with chasing perfection in their digital art?

My old painting teacher told me the same thing about my watercolors once. I started leaving one brushstroke a little sloppy on purpose and it actually made the whole piece feel more alive.

Did the sloppy stroke feel risky or freeing for you?
