Just had a print run go completely sideways on me

I was running 500 shirts for a local festival booking and the screen washed out halfway through. The emulsion just gave up on shirt 312 and left this weird ghost image. I wasted 3 hours and $40 in ink before I caught it. Has anyone else dealt with cheap emulsion failing in the middle of a job like this?

Has anyone ever noticed how this kind of thing happens at the worst possible moment? Like the universe waits until you're 60% done to throw a wrench in. I feel like cheap materials just have this built-in failure clock where they hold up fine for small tests but bail on you when the pressure's on (kinda like how my phone always dies right when I need GPS the most). You tested the screen okay, right? But the emulsion was hiding its weakness until it got tired. It's a real pattern in a lot of things - not just printing but like wearing new shoes on a long walk and having the sole peel off halfway through.
