Comparing the 2pm taco truck to the sit-down spot next door and the truck won by a mile
Last Saturday I finally tried the little white taco truck parked behind the laundromat on 5th and Main, and I honestly don't know why I waited so long. I had been going to the sit-down place two doors down for almost 3 years because I figured a real restaurant had to be better, right? The truck charged me $7 for three al pastor tacos, and the meat came off the spit fresh with crispy bits on the edges. The restaurant charges $14 for the same order and it always shows up kinda dry, like it's been sitting under a heat lamp. The salsa at the truck is made in small batches too, you can tell because the green one actually tastes like roasted stuff instead of just hot. I sat on a plastic crate next to two guys on their lunch break and had the best meal I've had in this town in a long time. So now I'm wondering what other spots I've been walking past because they don't have a fancy sign out front. What's the best hole in the wall near you that beats the place with actual tables? I need to branch out.
