Spent three years mocking flat earth folks online, then my own nephew asked me one question that made me feel like a jerk
I used to spend my lunch breaks in my truck tearing apart flat earth videos on my phone, posting comments, feeling real smart about it. Then my nephew, he's 14, asked me at Thanksgiving why I cared so much what strangers believed about something that doesn't touch my life at all. I sat there for a second and couldn't come up with one good answer. I realized I wasn't debating anything, I was just dunking on folks for the rush. Now I still read those threads but I try to actually ask people where their ideas come from first. Has anyone else caught themselves being a keyboard warrior about a conspiracy theory and had to pull back?
