Stopped asking the Facebook group where to eat and built a $0 map from the gas station guy instead
Every time someone visits my town I used to post in the local Facebook group asking for food spots and get 60 comments arguing about the same two diners. So last month I tried something different: I started asking the guys working the register at gas stations and hardware stores where THEY eat lunch. In three weeks I got 14 spots, and 11 of them were places I had never heard of, including a taco window behind a laundromat on 5th that only opens at 6am. The map in my phone now beats every "best of" list I have ever read. Am I the only one who thinks the dude at the counter knows the town better than the comment section?
