Can we talk about how finding a decent plumber through recs took me 11 days
My kitchen sink started backing up on a Friday and I figured it was a 20 minute fix with a snake. By Monday it was three inches of standing water and I had called four plumbers off random search results, and two never showed, one quoted $850, and one wanted to rip out the whole cabinet. So I posted in the neighborhood group asking for who fixed their drains and got nine names back. I called the two that got mentioned more than once, and the guy who came out snaked it plus ran a camera for $190 in about an hour. The whole thing would have been done that Friday if I had just asked first instead of trusting the first page of search results. Now I want to know, does anyone keep a running list of trusted trades or do you just hope the group answers fast when something breaks?
