Vent: That comic book store in Denver that changed my whole reading routine

I was at Mile High Comics in Denver last month digging through their dollar bins and the guy behind the counter told me to stop judging books by their covers. He said half the best stories I was skipping had terrible art on the front. Has anyone else had a shop owner totally flip how you pick what to read?

Did you actually try any of the covers he pointed out, and did he end up being right?

Dig into those bins without looking at the covers at all. Grab any number 1 issue that looks vaguely interesting and read the first five pages standing right there. Tbh that advice from the clerk probably saved you more money than it cost you in time.
