Question about cold brew ratios after trying a shop's version
I always thought cold brew was just weak iced coffee, so I never bothered. Last month I grabbed a cup from a small place near my office in Austin and it hit different, smooth and almost sweet with no bitterness at all. They told me they use a 1 to 8 ratio and steep for 18 hours in the fridge. I tried that at home with my usual beans and it came out way stronger than I expected, like concentrate that I had to cut with water. Is that normal for 1 to 8, or am I messing up my grind size? What ratio do you all run for a ready to drink batch?
