Picked a plain text editor over a fancy IDE for my first month of Python and it kind of worked
Two months ago I had to choose between VS Code and just Notepad for learning Python, and I went with Notepad because all the buttons in VS Code scared me. For the first week I kept messing up indentation and got about 6 IndentationErrors a day. After 3 weeks of typing every line by hand, the mistakes dropped a lot because I was paying attention to spacing instead of letting the editor fix it. Last Tuesday I finally switched to VS Code and the tab key felt like cheating, but I think starting plain helped. Did anyone else start on the boring option and did it mess you up later?
