Sat through a 2 hour town hall in Bakersfield about our water supply and walked out signing up to speak at the next one
I went to a town hall at the Bakersfield community center last Thursday mostly to kill time, and a farmer stood up and said his well dropped 40 feet in five years. Then a woman two rows over said her kids' school cut its garden because of watering limits. I figured I'd just listen, but by the end I put my name on the list for the next meeting and started a shared doc with three neighbors about cutting our outdoor use. We're at 12 households now tracking our monthly gallons together. Has anyone else had a local meeting like that actually pull them in off the couch?
