Pro tip: a brass brush on the smoke shelf saved me 20 minutes per job
Last week I was doing a routine sweep in Council Bluffs and the homeowner had a foot of creosote crusted on the smoke shelf that my usual poly brush just slid over. Dug out a stiff brass brush from my toolbox and it chewed right through it in about 4 minutes instead of the usual half hour. Any of you keep a brass brush in your kit for the stubborn stuff, or is that just me?
