A customer said my drop cloth looked like a crime scene, so I switched to canvas sheets with magnets
I was finishing a job in Salem two weeks ago and the homeowner watched me pack up, then said my plastic drop cloth was covered in soot smears and looked like a crime scene. That stung, but she was right. I switched to canvas sheets with sewn in magnets that snap right to the stove pipe and hearth. They cost about $30 each, but I only need two and they wipe clean instead of tearing. Just did a fireplace job in an old house near the river and the owner asked where I got them before I even packed up. Does anyone else use canvas, or is there a better fabric that does not soak up creosote smell?
