Venting about my failed attempt at sugar glass for dessert plating

It shattered into a million pieces when I tried to shape it. Back to the drawing board with caramel temperatures.

Ever tried making sugar glass only to end up with edible confetti? My last attempt looked less like a fancy garnish and more like a window got murdered... I feel your pain, but hey, at least it's still sugar, right?

Actually seems like a total loss when sugar glass shatters that way. The whole point is getting that clean break, not a pile of sweet dust. Texture is everything with something like that, otherwise you might as well just sprinkle plain sugar. Kind of defeats the purpose of going through the trouble in the first place. Just leaves you with a sticky mess to clean up, which is its own special kind of pain.
