Switched from nail guns to hand nailing crown molding after a $400 callback
I used to always grab my 18 gauge brad nailer for crown. Fast, easy, looked fine. Then last summer I did a whole living room in an old house in Portland where the walls were all wavy. Nail gun just kept popping the joints or leaving gaps. After the homeowner called me back twice I finally hand nailed the whole thing with finishing nails and a punch set. Took twice as long but it actually stayed tight against those crooked walls. Has anyone else gone back to hand nailing for certain trims?

Complete game changer for wavy walls. Hand nailed my last two crown jobs after the same issue.
