Got a laser level for the first time, my ceilings finally tell the truth

I set up a $60 Bosch laser level in a hallway remodel last Tuesday and realized all my old bubble levels were lying to me by about a quarter inch over 12 feet. Now I'm redoing the crown molding in my own living room, anyone else find out their starter tools were way off once they upgraded?
