Changed my mind about quick-set glue after a job at the Johnson remodel last week
I always used regular wood glue for crown molding, but the homeowner wanted it done in one day. Watched the quick-set grab in 5 minutes and held tight, no clamps needed. Anyone else switched over for time-sensitive trim work?

Duty of care has to kick in somewhere though... quick-set glue is great until you realize there's zero working time to adjust that crown if the wall's even slightly out of square. @eric_johnson might have seen it work on baseboards but base trim is forgiving, crown molding's a whole different beast. A five minute grab means a five minute mistake if you misjudge a corner or the miter doesn't seat right. And for the price per tube you're paying triple what standard wood glue costs, plus you can't just wipe off squeeze-out with a damp rag, it sets into this plastic mess. I've had too many callbacks on rushed jobs to trust anything that cures faster than 20 minutes.
