Shoutout to the guy who told me to track every single job application I send out

I always thought I had a decent handle on my job hunt, just kept a mental list of where I applied. Last month I finally started using a simple spreadsheet after a friend nagged me about it. Turns out I had applied to 47 places in 6 weeks and only heard back from 12 of them. That's a 25% response rate, which honestly felt brutal to see in black and white. Now I can actually see which types of roles get me interviews and which industries are just ghosting me. Has anyone else crunched their numbers and found something surprising about their own job search?
