Pro tip: Stop over-formatting your resume for every single job
I spent three years tweaking my resume fonts and layouts for each application and got nowhere. Last month I just used plain Times New Roman with clear headers and sent the same version to 12 places. I got 4 callbacks. What's the deal with people thinking fancy formatting hides a weak job history anyway?

Gotta say I see it the other way. Matching your resume to the job description shows you actually read what they need, not just shotgun the same paper everywhere. That response rate is solid though, maybe your resume was already strong and the formatting wasn't the real issue in the first place?

Wait, is that actually the case though? I used to be all about tailoring everything, but hearing your response rate makes me wonder if I've been overthinking this whole thing.
