My big project file got corrupted 2 days before the deadline
I was finishing up a proposal for a client in Phoenix and the file just wouldn't open. I'd been working on it for 3 weeks straight and hadn't backed it up since the previous Friday. Panic set in hard, my heart was pounding. I tried opening it on my laptop instead of the desktop, and somehow that worked after 20 minutes of loading. Now I'm paranoid and backing stuff up every hour to a cloud drive. Anyone else have a close call like that and change their whole backup system?

Learned that lesson the hard way myself. Now I save like a madman.

And it's funny how these close calls expose the bigger pattern in our lives, right? We all get comfortable and lazy until something JERKS us awake. Same reason I set a timer on my phone to remind me to check the air pressure in my truck tires every month, because one blowout on the highway taught me that lesson. You think you're good because nothing bad has happened yet, but that's just luck, not a system. Now you've got a real system. That's the whole trick, building in those little habits before the panic forces you to.
