DAE notice people put certs on their resume but cant explain them in the interview?
Sat in on 3 interviews at my company in Austin last week for a junior IT role and 2 of the 4 people listed security+ but could not tell me what a firewall rule actually does. I get it, the test is just memorizing stuff, but the hiring manager flat out said he skips anyone whose certs dont come with a story. If you got a cert, have one real thing you did with it ready to go. What certs do you actually feel helped you in a real job vs just getting past a filter?
