A recruiter at a job fair in Columbus asked me why I even bothered applying if I wasn't "excited"
I was at a job fair in Columbus about 8 months ago, standing in line for a company I actually wanted to work for. The recruiter looked at my resume for maybe 15 seconds, put it down, and asked me why I was "even here" if my cover letter didn't mention their mission statement. I told her I applied to 60 jobs that month and honestly couldn't remember writing a custom paragraph for every single one. She just nodded slowly and said "that explains it." I walked away feeling like I'd been graded on a test I didn't know I was taking. Has anyone else had a recruiter call them out like that at an event? Did you change how you write cover letters after?
