Serious question, did I waste money on a 3 season sleeping bag for car camping in Bend?
I camped near Bend, Oregon over Memorial Day weekend and it dropped to 28 degrees at night. My Kelty 20 degree bag left me shivering by 2am even with a liner. I finally figured out the temp rating assumes you're wearing a full base layer and using a real pad with an R value of at least 4, which mine was not. Anyone else get fooled by the number on the tag, or am I just a cold sleeper?
