I used to skip the rain fly until a soaked night in Olympic taught me why people review tents the way they do
For years I rolled my eyes at every tent review that went on and on about the rain fly. Seemed like such a small thing. Then last October I camped near Hoh Rainforest and woke up at 3am in a puddle because my fly was pitched wrong and water ran right down the seam. Now when I read reviews I skip straight to the fly section first. Anyone else change what they look for in gear reviews after getting burned once?
