Took me 3 weekends to figure out why my tent kept flooding at French Creek State Park
Rained hard two nights in a row on a trip in April and I woke up in a puddle both times even though the tent is rated for way worse. I re-seamed every seam, re-taped the floor, even bought a new footprint, and it still leaked. Finally on the third trip I flipped the rainfly inside out in my garage and found a pinhole about the size of a pen tip near the top vent that I'd somehow missed with a flashlight twice. Took 3 full weekends, roughly 14 hours of messing with it, to find a hole I could cover with a dab of seam grip. Check your rainfly against a bright window before you blame the seams. What's the dumbest small thing that ruined a trip for you?
