My camp stove died on the second night at Baker Lake, so I cooked dinner on wet firewood
Took my kids up to Baker Lake last month for a three night trip and my old two burner stove quit on me right as I started dinner on night two. I pulled the fuel line apart, cleaned the little jet with a wire from a twist tie, and nothing. So I built a fire in the rain with damp wood I scrounged from under a downed cedar, and we ate beans and hot dogs off a stick at 9pm. The kids still say it was the best meal of the trip, which stung a little. What do you all keep as a backup cooking setup when the stove gives out?
