Stopped by a small shop in Nashville last month and noticed something odd about their door hinges

I was in Nashville for a family thing and popped into this little custom cabinet shop off Broadway. Every single door on their display cabinets had soft-close hinges, but they were all installed with the tension set way too light. The doors were closing so slow they practically stopped an inch from the frame. I asked the guy working there about it and he said that's just how they've always done it. Has anyone else run into shops that set soft-close hinges wrong on purpose?

Nashville's not really off Broadway, that's downtown.

Always find it funny how people use "off Broadway" for places that are clearly just walking distance from the main strip. It's like folks get a word stuck in their head and apply it everywhere without thinking. Your mileage may vary but to me it's a bigger pattern where we borrow labels from other cities and force them onto places they don't quite fit. Same thing happens with trendy food names or neighborhood nicknames.
