Just realized my dust collection hose was twice as good after flipping the blast gate around

Last week I was pulling my hair out over weak suction at my table saw. Checked the bag, checked for clogs, checked the cyclone. Nothing. Then I noticed my blast gate was installed backwards from the factory arrow. Flipped it 180 degrees and the airflow doubled. Two years I was running it backwards. Has anyone else ever found a dumb install mistake like this that was right in front of you the whole time?
