That $18 cast iron pan from a Wisconsin estate sale has outlasted every nonstick I ever owned
A guy at a garage sale in Eau Claire sold me a Griswold skillet for $18 back in 2003 and I almost passed on it since it looked so rough. Cooked on it every day since and it still slides eggs better than the $40 nonsticks I used to replace every two years. Turns out these old ones were cast thinner than modern stuff so they heat up fast without weighing a ton. Anyone else got a cheap flea market find that quietly beat everything new?
