Hot take: I stopped buying cheap boots after a guy at a job site in Tulsa showed me his 12 year old pair
I always figured boots were boots and buying cheap pairs every 8 months was just how it worked. Then I was working a remodel job in Tulsa and this older electrician showed up with the same boots he'd had for 12 years, resoleable and all. He pulled up the receipt on his phone, $340 back in 2013, so about $28 a year. I was going through $90 boots every 8 months, which works out to $135 a year. That math hit me hard. I still cringe at the upfront cost but I get it now. Anyone else here resole their boots or just run them into the ground?
