Two weather apps gave me opposite forecasts, so I drove to the storm

Last Wednesday in Wichita, my phone said a 60% chance of rain and my wife's app said sunny all day. I trusted mine, she packed the umbrella, and we ended up parked under an overpass watching hail bounce off the hood. That got me thinking about how algorithms just guess from the same radar data, they don't actually know. So I checked three forecast sites and they all disagreed by at least 15 degrees on the high temp. Now I just look at the sky and the barometer in my garage, and honestly it's been more reliable than any app for two weeks straight. Has anyone else quit trusting these things after getting burned on a clear day?
