Just realized my YouTube recommended tab thinks I'm a different person than I actually am

Last Wednesday I was watching a video about diesel engine repairs for my truck, and the next thing I know my feed is full of makeup tutorials and ASMR cooking. I've never looked up either of those things. My wife laughed and said the algorithm probably picked up on me watching that one video about organizing a toolbox that had a pink backdrop. Now I'm getting ads for nail polish and vegan meal kits. Has anyone else had their feed completely flip on them like this for no real reason?

My feed went from engine work to crochet patterns after watching one car video with a blue steering wheel cover.

honestly @jake_kelly24, I used to think algorithms were just messing with us for no reason, but this made me change my mind. i watched one video about restomodding a old Chevelle with a red interior, and now my feed is full of quilted seat covers and custom dash stitching. it's kind of wild how one little detail like a steering wheel color sends you down a whole different rabbit hole.
