One bad review in Columbus made me double-check every listing now

Found a pancake place with 4.8 stars and 200 reviews, drove 20 minutes, and the place was closed for a month. Turns out the owner posted fake reviews to bury the real complaints, so now I sort by newest instead of top rated. Has anyone else caught a business faking their ratings?
