A guy at my barbershop in Fresno rates every business we mention, and it made me rethink how I leave reviews
I was sitting in the chair at my barbershop on Van Ness in Fresno getting a fade when he asked what I did for lunch. I told him about this new taco spot on Blackstone and he asked me point blank how many stars I gave it on Google. I admitted I gave 5 even though the tortillas were soggy and the wait was 40 minutes, because I felt bad for the kid at the counter. He said he only reads 2 and 3 star reviews because 5s are mostly either fake or people being nice and 1s are usually just someone having a bad day. Now I'm wondering how many local spots I've been propping up with reviews they didn't actually earn. Do you all trust 5 star reviews or do you go straight to the middle ones like he does?
